Balancing out heat at this time of year?

What I tend to notice is I have one day where I feel warm with no heating at all (or a little cool but not cold) and one day of feeling a little bit of a draught.
On the days it feels draughty I put heating on a few hours then the next day I dont need heating on at all, on the day after that I feel the draught again (tolerable but gets worse) and if I leave it one more day I feel quite cold.
But every time I have one day on one day off for ehating it seems to balance it out.
So if that makes sense what is the best way of just having it on next to never but never feeling the draught? Outside of having timers that is.

im one for heating when needed, not just cos its quite cold
When the sun shines, the house feels warmer. Last week it was warm enough not to need the heating on at all. Sunday it went on, yesterday it went on, today was manageable
Mostly now this time of year, its a blanket on the sofa rather then the heat on0 -
I've had the heating off now for around a week.
When it's nippy it's an excellent excuse for hot water bottles and smuggling down with a book. That sounds like a classic case of premature extrapolation.
